How to share albums and playlists across streaming services

Short answer

Albums work like single songs: SongFlip finds the same release on the other service and opens it (0 taps on Android, 1 tap on iPhone), or you convert the link in the web demo and send the result. Playlists go through the playlist converter: public playlists of up to 50 songs (first 5 free) play as a queue in Spotify or YouTube Music, or become a share page on songflip.link/p/… that your friends can open in their own app.

Albums and playlists are different problems

An album is a fixed release with a known artist, title and track list. Every major service carries the same release under its own ID, so matching it is close to matching a single song. A playlist is something else: it's a personal list that only exists on the service where someone built it. Apple Music has no copy of your friend's Spotify playlist – each track has to be found one by one.

That is why SongFlip treats them separately: album links are converted for free like any song link, while playlists have their own converter.

Sharing an album with someone on another service

Say you're on Spotify and your friend uses Deezer. You have three options, depending on who does the work:

  • Your friend has SongFlip: just send the normal Spotify album link. On Android it opens straight in Deezer; on iPhone your friend shares it to SongFlip once.
  • You want to send the right link yourself: paste the album URL into the web converter and copy the Deezer link from the results.
  • You don't know which service they use: send a smart music link instead – the recipient picks their own service.

Deluxe, remaster or single? Albums often exist in several editions with different track counts. If the result looks slightly off, check the year and the edition name – regional catalogues don't always carry every version.

Converting a playlist step by step

This works in both directions – whether you are preparing your own playlist for friends or stumbling across a shared Spotify or Apple Music playlist in a Reddit thread (such as r/SongsThatFeelLikeThis) that you want to play straight in your own app:

  1. In Spotify, YouTube Music or another source app, open the playlist and tap Share → Copy link (or simply tap or share an incoming playlist link). The playlist has to be public.
  2. Share the link to SongFlip (or paste it in the app). SongFlip reads the track list locally without a login and matches each song on your chosen service.
  3. Choose what to do with the result: play it straight as a queue in your player (such as Spotify, YouTube Music, Tidal or Deezer), or create a share page on songflip.link/p/….

The first 5 songs of a playlist are converted for free. With PRO the converter handles larger public playlists in one go.

What the share page does

The /p/ page lists the converted tracks, and every visitor can open them in the service they use. Nobody needs the app or an account to view it. The page stays online for 90 days after the last visit; each new visit extends it by another 90 days, so a playlist you keep sharing doesn't disappear.

Limits you should know about

Playlist typeWorks?Why
Public playlists (yours or others')Yes (first 5 free, more with PRO)The track list is publicly readable.
Private playlistsNoSongFlip has no login, so it can't see them.
Daily Mix, Discover Weekly, RadioNoThese are generated per user and aren't public lists.
Albums and EPsYes, freeMatched as one release, like a song.

If a playlist of yours is private, make it public for a moment in the playlist settings, convert it, then switch it back. For algorithmic mixes, save the songs into a normal playlist first.

Moving all your playlists or your whole library to a new service is a migration job. Tools such as Soundiiz or TuneMyMusic connect to both accounts and copy everything. SongFlip doesn't ask for your streaming logins, which is why it focuses on links that are shared with you or by you.

Frequently asked questions

Make sure the playlist is public, share its link to SongFlip and create a share page. Your Apple Music friends open the songflip.link/p/… link and play each track in Apple Music. Up to 5 songs are free, larger playlists with PRO.

Yes. When someone shares a public playlist in a chat or community thread, SongFlip takes the playlist link without any account login, matches the tracks on your preferred service (such as YouTube Music, Spotify, Tidal or Deezer) and starts them directly as a playback queue.

Yes. Album links are matched like songs, with no PRO needed – in the app or in the web demo.

Both are tied to your account. SongFlip works without a login and only reads public information, so it can't see them. Copy the songs into a public playlist and convert that instead.

Only if nobody uses it. It stays online for 90 days after the last visit, and every visit resets that period.
