How to create one music link for every streaming service

Short answer

A smart music link is a single URL that lets every recipient open the same song in the service they use. With SongFlip PRO you share any song link to SongFlip and choose to create a smart link; a songflip.link/s/… address lands in your clipboard. Whoever opens it sees a 30-second preview and buttons for Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, Tidal and Amazon Music – no app or account required. Example: songflip.link/s/rickroll.

When a smart link is the better choice

Sending a plain Spotify link to a group chat works for the Spotify users and annoys everyone else. You have two ways around it: convert the link into the one service your friend uses, or send something neutral that works for all of them. A smart link is the neutral option. It's useful when:

  • you post in a group chat or on social media where people use different services,
  • you don't know (or don't want to ask) which service the recipient uses,
  • the recipient may not use any streaming service and just wants to hear the song,
  • you are an artist, podcaster or creator sharing your track in feedback threads (like Listen 4 Listen / L4L), social bios or show notes without pasting multiple links.
  • you publish weekly music roundups, community recaps (e.g. on Reddit or indie blogs), or newsletters: sharing Spotify-only links immediately shuts out readers on YouTube Music, Apple Music, or Deezer. A smart link removes that friction across all platforms, complete with an instant 30-second browser preview – no app required.

If you're sending to one person and know their service, converting the link directly in the web converter is simpler – they get a link that opens straight in their app.

Creating a smart link in the app

Android

  1. In Spotify, YouTube Music or any other music app, tap Share on the song.
  2. Choose SongFlip and pick the smart link option.
  3. The songflip.link/s/… link is copied to your clipboard – paste it into WhatsApp, Instagram, an email or wherever you want.

iPhone

Same flow: Share → SongFlip → smart link, then paste. SongFlip for iOS is currently available via TestFlight.

Shared something earlier? You can also create a smart link from your song history in the app, without going back to the original music app.

What the recipient sees

The link opens a light web page with cover art, title and artist. Below that:

  • a 30-second preview that plays right in the browser – handy for anyone who just wants to know what the song sounds like,
  • one button each for Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, Tidal and Amazon Music that opens the track in that app with a single tap.

The recipient doesn't need SongFlip, an account or a login. Try it with The Weeknd – Blinding Lights.

How long a smart link stays online

A smart link stays active for at least 90 days after its last visit. Every visit extends it by another 90 days. A link that people keep opening therefore keeps working; one that nobody has clicked for three months expires.

Receiving links instead of sending them?

Smart links help the people you send music to. If you're the one getting Spotify links while you use Apple Music or YouTube Music, the app solves the other side: on Android every incoming link opens in your service with 0 taps, on iPhone with 1 tap. More on that in opening music links from WhatsApp and Telegram.

Frequently asked questions

Share the song to SongFlip (PRO) and choose the smart link option. You get a songflip.link/s/… link that opens in Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, Tidal and Amazon Music.

No. The smart link is a normal web page. Recipients can listen to a 30-second preview in the browser or tap the button for their own service.

Yes. The web converter turns a single song or album link into the links for the other services for free. You then send the one that fits your friend.

Only when they're not used. A link stays active for at least 90 days after the last visit, and every visit extends it by 90 days.

They are ideal for exactly that. Instead of cluttered lists of links for every platform, you share a single songflip.link/s/… address per recommendation. Readers pick their preferred service with one tap or listen to the 30-second preview right in their browser – without needing any app.
