How to open Apple Music links in Spotify
Short answer
Spotify has no way to read Apple Music links. Android – make SongFlip the app for music.apple.com once, and every Apple Music link opens in Spotify with 0 taps. iPhone – share the link to SongFlip instead of letting the Music app open it (1 tap). Single link – paste it into the web demo and copy the Spotify link. Library transfers need a different tool (FAQ).
How an Apple Music link is built
A typical song link looks like music.apple.com/de/album/song-name/1234567890?i=1234567891. Three parts matter:
- The country code (
/de/,/us/,/gb/…) names the Apple Music storefront the sender uses. It says nothing about Spotify. - The number after the album name is Apple's album ID.
?i=marks one track on that album. Without it, the link means the whole album.
Artist pages use /artist/, playlists /playlist/. SongFlip resolves the IDs to title, artist and album, finds the same release in Spotify and opens it there.
Android: Apple Music links in Spotify with 0 taps
- Install SongFlip from Google Play and select Spotify as your player.
- On the setup screen, go to Settings → Apps → SongFlip → Open by default, tap Add links and tick
music.apple.com. - Tap the next Apple Music link from your group chat – it plays in Spotify.
music.apple.com not selectable? Then Apple Music for Android is installed and owns the domain. If you don't use it, uninstall it; otherwise switch off Open supported links in its app settings. See fixing “Open by default” on Android.
iPhone: 1 tap before the Music app takes over
On iPhone, Apple Music links belong to Apple's Music app. If you don't subscribe, it opens anyway and shows a subscription offer. iOS doesn't let SongFlip intercept that, so use the share menu:
- Install SongFlip (currently via TestFlight) and choose Spotify as your player.
- Long-press the Apple Music link in Messages or WhatsApp and tap Share – don't tap the link itself.
- Pick SongFlip – Spotify opens with the song.
Alternatively copy the link and trigger the SongFlip shortcut with the Action Button or Siri.
Convert one Apple Music link online
Paste any music.apple.com link into the SongFlip web demo to get the Spotify link – handy on a laptop, or to reply in a chat with the version everyone can open. Links for YouTube Music, Deezer, Tidal and Amazon Music are listed too.
When an Apple Music link has no Spotify match
- Apple-only content: Apple Music exclusives, radio shows and Apple's own sessions aren't on Spotify.
- Different editions: deluxe, remastered or region-specific editions sometimes carry different track lists. SongFlip looks for the same recording, so the Spotify album it opens can be a different edition.
- Availability in your country: a song from a
/us/link may be released on Spotify in the US but not where you live.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. SongFlip converts it the moment you tap (Android) or share (iPhone) it. For a single link without the app, use the web demo.
Not for finding the song. SongFlip matches by title, artist and album. What counts is whether the song is available on Spotify in your own country.
Public Apple Music playlists of up to 50 songs work with SongFlip's playlist converter (first 5 songs free). To move your entire library, use a migration service such as TuneMyMusic or Soundiiz.
No. SongFlip reads the public information behind the link; you never sign in to Apple.
